History

Coffee had always been a family passion, starting with my grandfather, Johannes M. who was a coffee roaster himself and also his son Johannes (my father) and his brother Theo.

After many years as a flute player in a classical orchestra in Cologne, I decided to open a mini-cafe in my little garden in Cologne Zollstock.

The name “Lilofee” was given in 2016 during the construction work of the house, as my sister Lotte (“Lilo”) supported me financially when I was late with my finances (“Could you be my lucky fairy (german “Fee”) just for some days?”) Lilo always said:” I do, what I can, as quick as I can!!!!”

My dutch godmother Henriette had always been asking me for “the little coffee shop” (“Stübchen”), which compliments the size of the small house.
